When Walt Disney opened Disneyland Park in 1955, he had some big dreams and even bigger rules. One of his biggest rules was that guests would not be able to buy alcohol in the parks. Disneyland was a place where children and their parents could have a wonderful time together with no one feeling left out. And he only wanted the right kind of families to visit his park.

That is why he was insistent on no alcohol — he believed that it would attract the wrong kind of people.
