Student handouts are not the answer
A guest columnist’s proposal of free food for college students (“College students’ food insecurity must be addressed,” Sept. 7) is the best idea I’ve heard yet on how to develop future leaders (entrepreneurs, teachers, scientists, engineers, physicians, artists and authors) who will stand in line for a government handout rather than taking responsibility for their own destiny. A better title for the column: “How to turn the U.S. into a socialist/communist state.”
