Florida Democrats’ path to regaining relevance in the state Legislature runs through Central Florida, where this fall the party hopes to protect newly elected Rep. Tom Keen, flip at least five other seats and break the Republican supermajority in the House.

That supermajority has allowed Republican leaders to carry out a culture wars agenda pushed by Gov. Ron DeSantis since his landslide reelection victory two years ago.
