Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is the newest attraction at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World, evolving from the former iconic Splash Mountain. The retheme is rooted in the storyline of Disney’s 2009 film The Princess and the Frog, continuing Princess Tiana’s journey as she and her companion, Louis the Alligator, prepare for their first Mardi Gras celebration.

The transformation is part of Disney’s initiative to address cultural sensitivities associated with Splash Mountain, whose theme was derived from the 1946 film Song of the South, a feature that had faced considerable criticism
